Summary of Meeting

Summary of Weekly Meeting

Date: Monday 19 September 2005

Thought of the Week:

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is every wasted."

– Aesop

Speaker: Martin Harris, Ophthalmologist & Senior Lecturer

Topic: Barnet 4 Sight (B4S is a trust fund used to purchase a 75K laser scanner to prepare for retina surgery @ the Barnet General. Age and diabetes are any retina’s greatest foes, laser surgery is the modern means of help. B4S was PP Eric F.’s charity. It could have been an expired Barnet Council canteen voucher, or simply his Oyster card, so admirably casual was he with it, but it was in fact a cheque for a whopping £10K, which Eric handed to Martin Harris during the vote of thanks.
