The Rotary Foundation is Rotary's own charity. Rotarians regularly contribute in its support. The Foundation funds many causes each year from the interest earned on the capital:

Through its Educational Programs the Foundation provides funding for about 1200 young people to study abroad each year as Ambassadorial Scholars. As in previous years, the club is again playing host, and we are delighted this year to be welcoming three incoming Scholars!

Dozens of teams, each made up of 4 young people accompanied by a Rotarian, travel on Group Study Exchanges, reciprocal fact finding tours to foreign countries.

The goal of Rotary's PolioPlus program is to eradicate polio from the world by the year 2005. To date, the PolioPlus program has contributed US$ 373 million to the protection of nearly 2 billion children. By 2005, Rotary's financial commitment will reach nearly US$ 500 million.

Golders Green are proud to have played a part in this project.

Paul Harris Fellows.

Paul Harris Fellow recognition was created in memory of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary as a way to show appreciation for contributions to the Foundation's charitable and educational program.  A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who contributes $ 1,000 or in whose name that amount is contributed.  Every Paul Harris Fellow receives a pin, medallion and a certificate when he or she becomes a Fellow.  This identifies the Paul Harris Fellow as an advocate of the Foundation's goals of world peace and international understanding.

It has been a practice of many clubs to award Paul Harris Fellowship to select members in appreciation of their services to Rotary, and to people outside of Rotary in appreciation of some aspect of their services to the community.
