This 30 mile pleasant drive through delightful Hertfordshire countryside commences in Potters Bar and finishes at The Cock o’the North Ale house at Bell Bar (on the A1000), where a buffet lunch will be served. You will have clues to unravel and questions to answer on the way, some amusing, some obscure. The car with as many occupants as you wish, (seating permitting!) with the most correct answers will win the top prize.
The Rally will commence at the Salisbury Close Car Park (adjacent to Oakmere Park) in High Street, Potters bar, with cars leaving from 9 - 10 am. You will need 2 hours to complete the exercise and show up at the Cock o’the North from 11.30 onwards. Please note that this is not a race and there are no prizes for arriving first.
Salisbury Close is a free car park on Sundays and our final venue has a huge car park and gardens. Lunch and prize giving will take place at 1 pm.
The cost will be £16.50 per head, (children under 12 are free) which includes an excellent buffet lunch. Drinks have to be purchased separately.
The day is planned as a fun event for Rotarians, family and friends. There is not a better way you could spend your Sunday, because at the same time as having fun we can all do what Rotary does best - supporting a local community charity.
Cherry Lodge is situated in Barnet and is a cancer care centre where one of our past member’s wives, Lis Archer, carries out voluntary work. It goes without saying that the care and support given to cancer patients here is invaluable. Please spread the word and help swell the numbers. Everyone is guaranteed a laugh and a great day out whilst supporting Cherry Tree Lodge.
